Beige Alain Ducasse – At Chanel for Lunch in Ginza

I had Chanel for lunch the other day. Beige by chef Alain Ducasse is a restaurant that pays homage to Coco Chanel and it is situated above the Chanel Flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo. Here the restaurant is decorated in beige and gold and everything has a reference to Chanel. Even the fabric used for the furnitures is made from Chanel Tweed.

I have to say that the lunch here is fantastic for it is packed with an abundance of very delicious food and surprises. The food comes in so many courses. There are tiny snack to start off the meal and my friends booked the restaurant with an American Express Platinum so we got complimentary gazpachos.  After the gazpacho, comes the starter with the bread and butter. I had the lobster with risotto and summer vegetables. After the starter is the fish dish followed by the meat. For the meat I had the duck with peaches and beetroot and the combination of these 3 ingredients were harmonious splendid. Right after the meat, people can choose a variety of cheese to enjoy before the dessert. Then comes the Chanel chocolates and macaroons but these things are not the actual dessert itself, they are just complimentary. Then comes the dessert where I had the Fromage Blanc with rhubarb and it was divine. Not my many places in Tokyo has rhubarb. After the dessert is of course coffee and tea and one must definitely order herb tea because it comes a trolley of fresh herbs will actually come to you and you can choose the herb that you desire.

Beige by Alain Ducasse was beyond my expectation, great food with many surprises, beautiful ambiance, and splendid food presentation. I definitely want to visit again.
