Nikko Lemon, Cheesecake and Berries Shaved Ice – Best Shaved Ice in Tokyo

I don’t usually line up for restaurants in Tokyo but I couldn’t resist the most fabulous shaved ice place in Japan close by Yoyogi Park on a hot sumer day.  The place is called Sebasuchan and here people lined up for 30 minutes just for a bowl of shaved ice. I have to confess that 30 minutes is definitely worth the wait. I have never eaten any other so delicious as this. At Sebasuchan, the shaved ice does not come in just traditional flavour like strawberry or melon. For instance, I had the lemon, cheesecake and mixed berries shaved ice and it was like I have visited heaven for a bit. My friend also ordered another unusual flavour for shaved ice and it was Campari grapefruits. The menu changes all the time and the specialty of the shaved ice here is in the ice. They only use water for Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture. I have no idea how this affects the taste but I love love love Sebasuchan’s shaved ice.
