Night Sakura at Kiyomizudera Kyoto
This year I have decided to take my cherry blossom coverage beyond Tokyo and today I arrived in Kyoto, the ancient capital city of Japan just for the occasion. I start my trip with the night sakura light up at the one of the most architecturally stunning temples and that is Kiyomizudera. the This temple actually competed to be one of the new 7 wonders of the world but lost out. Built in 1633, The temple has a wide platform that overlooks the city of Kyoto. This temple sits on the edge of the mountain and is supported by gigantic wooden stilts. It is this framework that makes the temple one of a kind. Kiyomizu actually means clear water and there is a tiny waterfall right underneath the temple.
