Plum Blossom – Showa Memorial Park

As Spring arrives, I continue on my hunt for the plum blossom, the first sign of spring in Oriental Japan. (Click here to see my previous blog on plum blossom at a shrine in Tokyo) A place with a variety of plum blossoms is the Showa Memorial Park in Tachikawa, Tokyo. For me, Showa Memorial Park is one of the nicest and biggest parks in Tokyo. This park is also a must visit during the peak of autumn. (Click here to see my previous blog on Showa Memorial Park)

Frankly speaking plum trees are not beautiful and photogenic as the cherry blossom sakura trees. However, the actual flower of plum is far more diverse and beautiful than the cherry blossom. Just have a look at all the shapes and colours.
