Tokyo Skytree – The World’s Tallest Tower is more like a Spaceship on a Stick

I finally get to on Tokyo Skytree the other day and I have to say it was quite impressive. For me, the view itself is not the main attraction. One should go there to marvel at the tallest tower in the world and dwarves the great concrete jungle of Tokyo.

When you arrive at Tokyo Skytree you have to pay 2000 yen to get in and this will take you to the 350th floor which is the middle deck of the tower. The only impressive thing about this floor is the glass floor where you can look down 350 floor underneath and be frightened by this great height.

The marvellous thing about Tokyo Skytree is the journey from the 35oth floor to the 450th floor, the upper deck of Tokyo Skytree. You have to pay an extra 1000 yen for this but if you are already half way up the tower, you might as well go all the way up. The elevator ride between these two decks is fantastic. You get to see the view of the city as you go up and down. You will also get to look at the structure of the tower from within.  You won’t be able to see this with the first elevator ride. When you arrive at the top, it is like you have boarded onto a very theatrical spaceship. It reminded me of Star Wars and I thought to myself maybe I should come back again with a light sabre with me. At the very top you will also get to visit the mascot of Tokyo Skytree as well. An experience you can only get in a country like Japan. Imagine going all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower and meet an Eiffel mascot there.

Anyway this is the Tokyo Skytree, the tallest tower in the world. Definitely should visit one day if you have a chance.
