Thai River Prawns like Lobster

The central part of Thailand has so many rivers that run through it flatlands and floodplains. This gives the central part of Thailand its unique geographic feature. These rivers are also the food basket of Thailand. They do not only provide water to irrigate the rice fields but they also contain these gigantic river prawns.

These river prawns are a delicacy in this region. Thai people like to split them in half and grill them. These prawns are pretty much similar to the lobsters. If you remember from my previous blog that I love lobster (click here to see). Therefore I love these river prawns as well.

Every time I come back to Thailand I always visit Bangsai, which is close to Ayutthaya, and sit at a restaurant next to the river to eat these river prawns. The scenery is also fantastic when the sun is about to set.
