Suan Kularb Palace
Like I have blogged before that while in Thailand I want to show the world the sights of Siam that most tourists will not get to see. This time, I would like to present to you the Suan Kularb Palace, the official residence of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali of Thailand.
Suan Kularb Palace literally means the Rose Garden Palace. From afar you might get to see the roof of the palace behind the high walls of the compound and when you get to enter the palace ground, it is like you are in Switzerland or Germany.
The reason that I got to enter the Suan Kularb palace this time was because my family was granted an audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali of Thailand. The other time that outsiders may enter the compound is when a nearby university has its graduation ceremony and newly graduates are allowed to enter through the gate to take photos.
Those who are granted an audience will not get to enter the main building of the palace but they will wait for Her Royal Highness at a building opposite the main building across the field. It is too bad that I was not allowed to bring a camera into the building. The chandeliers and the curtains were so exquisite.
I am waiting for the photos from the Royal Household Agency and once I get the photos, I will blog it as soon as possible.
Hope this will change your perspective of Bangkok and this is probably a sight of me a lot of people usually will not get to see, all serious in a proper suit and a royal insignia standing next to the personal red Mercedes of the princess.
