A Summery Day in Dolce and Gabbana

I haven’t bought clothes from Dolce & Gabbana for many years because like many other Italian brands that rose to stardom during the 1990’s and early 2000, I thought that the brand has lost touch with the recent time. Despite the recent tax evasion scandal, the designers have been able to reinvigorate the brand and impress me again.

I was walking past the window of Dolce & Gabbana store in Omotesando and I saw a pair of black shorts, the one in the picture, in the window and I simply had to get it. It goes very well with my preppy school boy style that I have blogged about before. (For the blog about school boy style click here) It has been said that every woman has a little black dress in her closet and in my case I always have little black shorts in my closet hahaha.

Then I saw an oversized t-shirt inside Dolce & Gabbana as well. I love the silhouette so much. Somehow it has a Spanish flair while the prints is an reminder of Greece and the classical world. Therefore the silhouette and the prints reminded of the Mediterranean, which is a true Dolce & Gabbana aesthetic.  The t-shirt is very relax and casual, making it great for the summer. The store didn’t have my size at first in Tokyo and they had to send the t-shirt over from Osaka. Nevertheless I am so glad that I got it.
