Summer in Japan = Yukata

I am not really a big fan of the summer in Tokyo. The heat, the humidity and the hot wind can annoy you, even when you are under cover or inside a building. Nevertheless there is one thing that I do love about the Japanese summer and that is the yukata, a simple Japanese outfit worn during the summer season for festivals and fireworks.

This is also one of the reasons why I love Japan and especially Tokyo a lot. You can get anything from around the world in this international city but the Japanese people still have an appreciation of their own culture and heritage. To me this is a perfect picture of a modern Asia, a world that harmoniously combined the east and west.

I am very much looking forward to parties and the festivals to come this season. Need to get my yukatas out and blog about them. wink*
